Your Content Marketing Efforts On Quora Will Fail If You Do This

Let’s not waste our time

The main purpose of content marketing is to get leads. So, obviously you’ll be targeting those people who are likely to buy from you or at least contact you.

On Quora, content writers or content marketers can face a little problem as far as this issue is concerned. We at Dimensions Content Marketing Services have been on Quora for a year now and we have faced this issue a lot.

The Issue

The issue is, on Quora, a large percentage of people who ask questions pertaining to digital marketing and content marketing are digital marketers themselves. It is counterintuitive to answer these questions because they aren’t the potential buyers.

Let us be very clear that we are helpful and answer the queries from our fellow content marketers on LinkedIn. But we have to take care of our business as well. We can’t keep on answering the questions asked by other digital marketers.

The Solution

Fortunately, there is an easy solution to this issue. Quora has the option to look up the Question and Answer logs. You can easily examine who asked the question, who modified it, what tags are there- literally everything.

For example take this question as an example-

We got the notification that somebody requested an answer.

On clicking the notification we are taken to the main page of that question-

Can you see the yellow highlighted part? Click on those three dots and the above drop down menu will open. Now click on the ‘view question log’ link. You will be presented with the log of the question. Go to the extreme bottom of that log and find out who asked the question. Hover the mouse over the name of the person who asked the question and you’ll see his or her details. You can them easily gauge if that person matches your buyer persona.

In case of the question we mentioned above, it turned out that the person is a digital marketer himself. It was not worth answering the question-

Always see the question log before answering a question on Quora.

Once again, let us reiterate, at Dimensions Content Writing Services, you are more than welcome to ask for free help. (Otherwise we wouldn’t have revealed this trick.) However, we have to be a little bit selfish for self preservation.
